Unwinding from two days and one night of celebration off their first BET Awards win, Day26 sat down to beast at Roscoe’s in Los Angeles. Understandably tired but still as ridiculous as ever, we got them to spit about fans, girls, and why they feel the need to go hard instead of going home.
They’re determined to acquire throwns, ready to prove the world wrong about boy bands, about Diddy, about reality show birthed musicians. Win or lose, they’re not done. They’ve just started.
Honey: How do you treat your girls?
Willie: We love our women. All of them.
Q: Just respect, treat her like your mother with respect, with the upmost respect. One day you’re going to have a kid and she’s going to cook a good meal and you need to treat her with respect.
Mike: Can she cook a good meal? Oh lord.
How do you treat your girls?
Mike: Just slap them around. [Laughs]
Alright, well…
Mike: Nah I don’t do that.
Robert: I just give my girl the black card and be like, ‘Go.’
You think that that’s all she needs though?
Robert: Yeah that’s all she needs, she’ll come back saying, ‘Thank you, baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Thank you!’
Willie: For me, it’s different. Recently someone said that I was disrespecting my wife. My wife and I understand each other, we know when we’re joking and when we’re not, which is why she’s my wife. A lot of people who follow us [on Twitter], know who we are and understand us, also understand how we interact. But most of those who commented do not understand. That’s how we roll ,that’s how we play. If you’d watch our youtube videos, you’d see that that’s how we do it; you’d see the love. I’ve been with her for eight years. We understand each other, but they don’t. We talk in code. The media takes it and says this and that when that’s not even the case. That’s why I’m with her and not with ya’ll.
What are the factors that differentiate between a jump-off and a girlfriend?
Robert: From the conversation, if there is any conversation.
